Research & teaching
Alongside my creative practice I am a digital media researcher, I work with clients to design and deliver bespoke professional development training, and I teach industry engagement and provide academic supervision for student projects.
Working with audiences as diverse as AI researchers on YouTube; neuroscientists on TikTok; business scholars’ raising their industry profiles; and entrepreneurs perfecting their pitch, I run professional development and community of practice workshops. Areas of expertise include audience engagement, creative translation of research, and digital storytelling.
Clients have included The ARC Centre of Excellence for Automated Decision-Making and Society (ADM+S) and the Digital Media Research Centre; Swinburne Innovation Studio; UTS Graduate Research School; and Griffith Business School.
"It was a really engaging and helpful session, and I have received lots of positive feedback from our participants"

“As public engagement in research becomes ever more pressing, Daniel delivered an excellent introduction where students could begin to consider their voice and how they engage with video content for research communication in the future.”
Sally Storey, ADM+S
